From October 2 to October 31, 2026, the Ministry of Coal is set to conduct Special Campaign 6 across all administrative offices and PSUs. Aligned with the national "Waste to Wealth" vision, the month-long initiative focuses on scientific e-waste disposal, scrap clearance, office space optimization, and workplace digitalization—fostering sustainable, efficient, and citizen-first governance.

To ensure comprehensive implementation and readiness, key review meetings were conducted:

Ministry-Level Review: Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, chaired a review meeting on September 28, 2026, with Senior Officers across all divisions of the Ministry to establish operational strategy and target benchmarks.

 

PSU & Subordinate Office Engagement: Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, chaired a follow-up review meeting on September 29, 2026, with Nodal Officers from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, NLC India Limited (NLCIL), the Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO), and the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO).

 

 

Key Highlights and Preparatory Initiatives

Identification & Segregation Drive: The Ministry, alongside its CPSEs, CCO, and CMPFO, is actively identifying obsolete items, physical scrap, and e-waste for systematic review, segregation, and scientific disposal to promote cleaner workplaces and efficient asset management.

Youth Innovation Workshop: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) organized a "Waste to Wealth Workshop" at WCL Koyla Vihar for the wards of employees. Young participants transformed discarded waste materials into creative prototypes—including spacecraft, robots, cars, and castles—highlighting sustainable practices through youth engagement.

Promoting Cleanliness Awareness: The Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO) hosted a debate competition on the theme “स्वच्छता और विकसित भारत की परिकल्पना” (Cleanliness and the Vision of a Developed India), fostering active dialogue and environmental awareness among officials.

Through these combined efforts, the Ministry of Coal remains committed to reinforcing robust institutional mechanisms, driving administrative efficiency, and advancing a cleaner, greener India.
