Ministry of Culture Gears Up for Special Campaign 6.0 launched by DARPG, with Focus on Cleanliness, E-Waste Disposal and Records Management


595 Sites Identified for Cleanliness Drive; Over 31,515 Physical Files and 323 E-Files Identified for Review; 26 PMO references, 80 MP References, 46 Parliamentary Assurances and 92 Public Grievances Marked for Disposal and Redressal

Ministry of Culture is actively participating in the Special Campaign 6.0 launched by DARPG, Government of India. Its Attached, Subordinate and Autonomous Organizations across the country are fully geared up to undertake the Special Drive. The Campaign started with a Preparatory Phase from 16th to 30th September, 2026 during which the targets for disposing and cleaning during the Campaign period have been earmarked. The implementation Phase of the campaign will start from 2nd October, 2026 and will continue up to 31st October, 2026. During the Campaign, special focus is being given on E-Waste disposal in Govt. Offices.

During the Preparatory Phase of the Special Campaign, Ministry along with its organizations have identified 595 sites across the country for cleanliness. Besides, Ministry has identified pending 80 MP references, 46 Parliamentary Assurances, 26 PMO references, 28 States Govt. references and 92 Public Grievances, 44 PG Appeals for disposal and redressal. Besides, 31515 physical files and 323 e-files have also been identified for review.

The activities undertaken by Ministry of Culture under the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 during September 2026, along with the upcoming activity scheduled on 02.10.2026, is furnished below:

i. Slogan-Writing Competition: A Slogan-Writing Competition on the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag” was organized for the officers and staff of the Ministry on 18.09.2026.

ii. Poster-Making Competition: A Poster-Making Competition on the theme “Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat” was organized for the officers and staff of the Ministry on 22.09.2026.

iii. Nukkad Natak: A Nukkad Natak, in collaboration with National School of Drama (NSD), on themes relating to Swachhata, Heritage and Culture was organized on 23.09.2026 at the common lawn of Kartavya Bhavan-02. The programme witnessed participation of officers and staff of the various Ministries.

iv. Shramdaan Drive & Weeding out Drive: A Shramdaan Drive, in coordination with the National Archives of India (NAI), was organized on 29.09.2026 at the lawns of NAI, with active participation of officers and staff of the Ministry. Also, Inspection of Record Room in NAI was done by the Officials of Ministry to review the files as per retention schedule guidelines. Many old files were identified for weeding out.

v. “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” Shramdaan & Plantation Drive: As part of the SHS Campaign, an “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” Shramdaan & Plantation Drive, in coordination with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), will be organized on 02.10.2026 at Purana Qila, Delhi, with participation of officers and staff of the Ministry.

Further, a Training session on Records Management held on 29.09.2026 at National Archives of India

 

Daily progresses will be monitored and uploaded on the SCDPM portal hosted by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. All Attached, Subordinate and Autonomous Organizations are enthusiastically participating in the campaign in full swing to achieve the targets set by the Ministry for the period.
