Department of Land Resources gears up for the implementation of Special Campaign 6, announced by the Government of India, for institutionalizing swachhata and minimizing pendency in government offices from 2nd October to 31st October, 2026.
Department is ready to undertake the Campaign in its all three premises i.e. Kartavaya Bhawan-3, CGO Complex and Shivaji Stadium Annex. During the preparatory phase of Special Campaign 6 (September 15–30, 2026), efforts are focussed on identifying targets for reduction of pendencies, reviewing records, discarding e-waste items/obsolete items, and planning cleanliness initiatives.
During the last Special Campaign 5.0, Department of Land Resources achieved the following targets:
• 16 Cleanliness Campaigns were successfully conducted in the premises of the Department
• 100% Disposal of Public Grievances and Appeals
• 2415 files, including physical files and e-files, were reviewed for recording/weeding/closing
As part of the preparatory phase for Special Campaign 6, the Secretary, Department of Land Resources inspected the CGO Complex office on 17th September 2026 including the Record Room, and addressed staff members on the value of cleanliness.
Highlighting the Prime Minister's vision for Swachhata, Secretary noted the profound nationwide impact of the cleanliness movement. He stressed that maintaining a clean environment is a collective duty vital for a healthy and developed society—one that should extend far beyond government offices into our homes, neighbourhoods, and local communities.
To achieve this, he urged everyone to take personal responsibility for maintaining clean surroundings by properly identifying and disposing of obsolete items, e-waste, and unserviceable materials at home and workplace. Additionally, he emphasized that reviewing, recording, and weeding out old files must be undertaken as a matter of priority.
The Department actively supports Special Campaign 6 by driving initiatives in workplace hygiene, streamlined record management, responsible waste handling, and effective space utilization.
