Gandhi Jayanti and Seva Pakhwada observed with youth participation in Kolkata

Gandhi Jayanti and Seva Pakhwada were observed at Boral with active participation of around 30 young people from the locality. The programme was organised by MY Bharat Kolkata South, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in association with Roynagar Society for Youth.
The programme was chaired by Shri Santu Bera, IT professional and social worker, and attended by Smt. Rinku Sarkar, social activist; Smt. Moumita Goswami, Treasurer, Roynagar Society for Youth; Smt. Papia Das, social worker; and Shri Aloke Goswami, Secretary of the organisation.
The programme began with floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, followed by an introductory address by Shri Aloke Goswami. Shri Santu Bera highlighted Mahatma Gandhi’s life, values and sacrifices for the nation and encouraged the youth to imbibe his ideals in their daily lives.
Speaking on cleanliness and hygiene, Smt. Moumita Goswami emphasised the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy community. As part of the programme, a tree plantation activity was also undertaken in the society premises. A social awareness quiz competition was organised to engage the participating youth and promote awareness on civic responsibility and social issues.
The participants also took a cleanliness and hygiene pledge through the MY Bharat portal, reaffirming their commitment towards a cleaner and healthier society.
