CULMINATION OF SECOND EDITION OF NAVAL COMMANDERS' CONFERENCE 2026

The second edition of the biannual Naval Commander's Conference 2026 was conducted from 29 Sep - 01 Oct 2026 at New Delhi. The apex level conference served as an avenue for a comprehensive review of the Navy's operational and materiel preparedness at the military-strategic level. During the three-day conference, Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon'ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon'ble Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Gen NS Raja Subramani, Chief of Defence Staff, and Gen Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff interacted with the Naval Commanders. The conference brought together the naval commanders to deliberate on operational preparedness, logistics and maintenance milestones, and reforms undertaken in the field of training and HR management. These aspects were discussed in the backdrop of the evolving global security environment, and rapid advances in technology, including absorption of AI, and the growing role of autonomous and uncrewed systems.
Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon'ble Minister of State for Electronics and IT, highlighted the importance of accelerating technology adoption, and strengthening domestic capabilities in key sectors such as semiconductors, AI and quantum technologies.
Gen NS Raja Subramani Chief of the Defence Staff underscored the Navy's role as a strategic force multiplier in safeguarding national interests and commended the Indian Navy's operational commitment to maintaining energy security, along with its sustained efforts towards technology absorption, and indigenisation. He also emphasised the need for technology-driven transformation, resilience, and greater integration among the Defence Forces.
Gen Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff outlined the preparedness of the Indian Army to address regional security challenges.
The key deliberations during Commanders' Conference emphasised jointness, interagency coordination, optimal utilisation of resources and strategic alignment towards building a Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive and Future Ready force.
