In continuation with the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, the troops of Indian Army’s Spear Corps and students of Army Public School Agartala, organized a multi-day series of structured educational, creative and community outreach activities from 29 September to 02 October 2026. The campaign aimed to foster deep environmental consciousness, personal hygiene and active community responsibility among young students.
The four-day initiative culminated on 02 October 2026 with an outdoor cleanliness drive at the iconic Albert Ekka War Memorial, alongside a station-wide Shramdaan (voluntary cleanliness drive) conducted by Spear Corps Volunteers across Agartala Military Station.

To embed sustainable habits early in life, APS Agartala featured five structured events engaging students across various grade levels, kickstarting the campaign by designing and preparing colorful awareness banners carrying slogans on environmental hygiene, poster-making activities focused on the central theme of 'Swachh Bharat Campaign', an Essay Writing Competition wherein students expressed their ideas, perspectives and practical solutions regarding cleanliness, public health and hygiene, a Drawing Competition centered around the theme 'Clean, Green & Sustainable Station', showcasing creative visions for eco-friendly military garrisons and an Outdoor Cleaning Drive at Albert Ekka War Memorial, extending cleanliness efforts directly to historic community spaces, paying homage to national heroes through active community service.
Complementing the school activities, Indian Army volunteers participated in a extensive Shramdaan drive across Agartala Military Station. Soldiers mobilized across garrison premises, key public transit routes, residential lines and green belts to clear waste, maintain landscaping and promote eco-friendly waste management practices.

"Inculcating environmental responsibility and civic pride in our youth is as vital as maintaining operational readiness. The active involvement of our students at APS Agartala alongside the dedicated Shramdaan by our troops reflects the true spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva-turning civic duty into a shared, lifelong commitment", told a defence spokesperson on the extensive campaign.

Spear Corps of the Indian Army is responsible for defending the Borders and maintaining peace in the North-East. Alongside its operational duties, Spear Corps actively leads ecological preservation, disaster relief and community welfare initiatives across the region.
