The NPS Sanchay Yatra, part of the NPS Diwas 2026 awareness campaign, visited New Market/ Bagri Market, East Kolkata Wetlands, Fishery Co-operative Belt on 01^ST October 2026. The Yatra is travelling across West Bengal from 1^st to 15^th  October 2026 to spread awareness about the National Pension System (NPS) and the importance of early pension planning.

 

The program was attended by Shri. Balbir Singh (GM SLBC), PFRDA Officials, along with Dignitaries and Higher Officials of Member Banks.

Highlights of the visit:

• Approximately 160 citizens visited the Sanchay Yatra Van and interacted with the NPS Sanchay representatives.
• 60 citizens received guidance on NPS Sanchay features, benefits and account opening.
• 30 new NPS Sanchay registrations/enquiries were recorded.
• Awareness material was distributed to citizens.

 

Special interactive kiosks and helpdesks guided local citizens through low-cost, regulated pension options, demystifying long-term savings for non-salaried households. The citizens were briefed on digital onboarding avenues, account management, and the compounding benefits of starting pension contributions early in their working lives.

 

Speaking on the occasion, PFRDA officials informed about the early and regular contributions to NPS Sanchay can help citizens build a disciplined retirement corpus, and appealed to everyone to make pension planning a part of their financial life.

 

The Yatra will continue its journey across various districts, under local bodies and rural cooperatives of West Bengal till 15^th October 2026, conduction spot counselling, distribution of informational literature in regional languages, and digital facilitation for seamless account opening.

The Lead District Manager thanked the administration, participating banks, the media and the citizens of Kolkata District for their support and enthusiastic participation. The Sanchay Yatra Van proceeds next to Howrah District on 2^ND October 2026.
