On its Foundation Day, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) reaffirmed its commitment to serving society through initiatives reflecting discipline, responsibility, and community engagement.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, on this Foundation Day, conveyed, “Let 1st October be our Recommitment Day to duty, discipline, and innovation for national and global security. Where there is a will, there is a way—and together we will keep achieving the unachievable.

The day, which marks a historic milestone as the world’s first ever integrated national security university—a vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister—was celebrated with activities promoting health, awareness, and sustainability. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on RRU’s journey from its inception to its recognition as an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, advancing education, research, innovation, and training in national security and allied domains, guided by the tenet of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the security of one is inseparable from the security of all.

With the noble message “Give Blood, Give Life," RRU, in collaboration with SMVS Hospital, Gandhinagar, organized a Blood Donation and Thalassemia Awareness & Screening Camp on “राष्ट्रीय स्वैच्छिक रक्तदान दिवस." Coordinated by the University Registrar Office (URO), EDLD, HRB, HSB, NSS, and NCC, the initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and volunteers. A total of 220 units of blood were donated, and thalassemia screenings were conducted. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Kalpesh H. Wandra, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Dharmeshkumar Prajapati, Registrar (I/c); and Prof. (Dr.) Priyanka Sharma, Dean, EDLD, who expressed gratitude to all volunteers and acknowledged Ms. Sneha Macwin, Administrative Officer, PASSB, for successfully coordinating the camp.

As part of the Alumni Day Celebration, RRU alumni came together for a tree plantation drive, symbolizing their enduring bond with the university and commitment to environmental sustainability.

Continuing its social outreach, RRU actively observed the Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) 2026 campaign (17 Sept – 17 Oct) under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat." On 1st October, staff and students joined the nationwide Shramdaan “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” under the coordination of Mr. Kashyap Parmar, Administrative Officer, EDLD.

The celebrations also featured Seed Ball Making, a Debate Competition on Contemporary National and International Security Issues, and a Photography Competition on “RRU Campus: People and Spirit." The day concluded with the Gyan Darpan Quiz winners’ prize distribution ceremony.
