Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027: 1,45,26,013 attempts in Nationwide Quiz; Shortlisted Youth Advance to Essay Round

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, a flagship youth engagement initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), has successfully completed the Viksit Bharat Quiz. The Quiz drew an overwhelming response from young Indians across the country, with 1,45,26,013 attempts recorded during the selection process.
The VBYLD 2027 aims to provide young citizens with a structured, merit-based platform to share their ideas, perspectives and innovative solutions towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The initiative aligns with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to create opportunities for talented youth to participate in public life and contribute to nation-building.
A Merit-Based National Youth Leadership Journey
VBYLD 2027 follows a structured, multi-stage selection process designed to identify and nurture youth leadership from the grassroots to the national level. The Viksit Bharat Challenge follows the pathway:
Viksit Bharat Quiz → Viksit Bharat Essay Challenge → District PPT Championship → State/UT VBYLD → National VBYLD
The Viksit Bharat Quiz, the first stage of the VBYLD 2027 selection process, was conducted on the MY Bharat portal from 17 August to 30 September 2026, with a corresponding Quiz also hosted on the MyGov platform. The Quiz comprised 20 questions, with a maximum score of 20 marks and a time limit of 10 minutes.
About 5.7 lakh youth who qualified in the Quiz round will proceed to the next stage, the Viksit Bharat Essay Challenge, and submit a 500-word essay on the MY Bharat portal on the theme designated for the region. The themes for the essay and presentation rounds are as under. The detailed mapping of States with themes is available on MY Bharat Portal:

- Demographic Dividend & Human Capital Development
- Sustainable Industrialization & Resource-led Growth
- Act East, Connectivity & Cultural Leadership
- Manufacturing, Entrepreneurship & Green Growth
- Tribal Leadership, Natural Resources & Inclusive Development
- Innovation Economy, Tourism & Creative Industries
- Technology, Innovation, Future Readiness
- Blue Economy, Human Capital & Global Competitiveness
Essays may be written in any of 23 languages on the MY Bharat portal till 15th October, 2026. The most promising young contributors will be shortlisted for an in-person presentation round at the district level, which will be conducted across all districts for the first time. Selected participants will then proceed to the State/UT VBYLD to present at that stage. Participants selected from all States/UTs under 10 regional themes will form part of the National contingent of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD).
