As part of the ongoing nationwide Special Campaign 6.0, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a major subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, is undertaking a dedicated e-waste collection drive across its operational zones and residential townships. The month-long initiative encourages employees and local residents to systematically deposit discarded electronic items to ensure their environmentally safe, scientific, and responsible disposal.

At the SECL Headquarters in Bilaspur, a dedicated e-waste collection bin has been installed to collect obsolete and unserviceable electronic items from staff members. Demonstrating the core philosophy of 'Waste to Wealth', the collection bin itself has been creatively fabricated using scrapped material, highlighting the practical possibilities of waste upcycling and productive reuse within institutional spaces.

To ensure wide community reach beyond office premises, dedicated e-waste collection booths have been set up across SECL’s residential colonies, including Vasant Vihar Colony in Bilaspur. Additionally, mobile teams are conducting door-to-door collection drives, allowing residents and family members to conveniently surrender old appliances, cables, telecom equipment, and computer hardware directly from their homes.

Special Campaign 6.0 is being actively implemented across all central government institutions from October 2 to October 31, 2026, placing strong emphasis on effective e-waste management, cleanliness, scrap disposal, optimum space utilization, efficient record management, and the speedy clearance of pending matters. Through this dedicated drive, SECL continues to foster active community participation, eco-friendly habits, and sustainable workplace governance in line with national cleanliness and environmental directives.
