Pensioners can now submit their annual Life Certificates without making repeated visits to offices, as the Department of Posts, through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), offers a doorstep facility to generate Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) via the Jeevan Pramaan portal.
The service is available to eligible Central Government, State Government, Defence, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), BSNL, Chennai Port Trust, TNEB, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Chennai Corporation, Panchayat Union, and other pensioners. Utilizing biometric authentication or the Face RD application, pensioners can complete the process from home with assistance from local postmen or postal delivery staff. While the service is offered at a nominal charge, it is completely free for EPFO, BSNL, and Defence pensioners.
To ensure uninterrupted pension disbursement, the Tamil Nadu Postal Circle leverages its extensive network of over 11,800 offices and 17,000 postal delivery staff and Gramin Dak Sevaks. Last year, the Circle successfully issued 1,55,355 Digital Life Certificates. To avail of the doorstep service, pensioners are advised to keep their mobile number, Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, and pension account details ready alongside identity verification, while the postman assists with digital authentication. Pensioners can book this service by calling the toll-free number 155299.
In addition to DLC generation, IPPB delivers a wide range of doorstep services through the postal network, including e-KYC account opening, cash transactions, fund transfers, bill payments, group accidental insurance, loan referrals, Aadhaar mobile updates, child Aadhaar enrolment, and AePS services for Direct Benefit Transfer beneficiaries. India Post urges all eligible pensioners to utilize these seamless doorstep facilities.
