The Indian Air Force presented a spectacular aerial display over Sendh Lake, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, today as part of the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava 2026 celebrations. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Featuring the Akash Ganga skydiving team, a Mi-17 helicopter and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, the programme showcased the courage, precision and professionalism of India’s air warriors.

The Akash Ganga team demonstrated exceptional skill through its skydiving display, highlighting the courage, coordination and discipline essential to precision parachuting.

The Mi-17 helicopter presented a demonstration of rapid troop deployment and precision flying. Following a high-speed approach and assessment of the landing zone, the helicopter landed to deploy Garud Commandos, reinforcing the team already positioned on the ground in a simulated operational scenario. The helicopter subsequently lifted off and demonstrated controlled lateral movement, spot turns and dynamic manoeuvres, showcasing its agility, responsiveness and the crew’s coordination. The sequence highlighted the close integration of air and ground elements, alongside the Mi-17’s versatility in troop transport, operational support, casualty evacuation, search and rescue, and humanitarian assistance.

Flying the indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv, the Sarang Helicopter Display Team enthralled spectators with synchronised formations and precision aerial manoeuvres. Its performance reflected the IAF’s flying proficiency and teamwork while showcasing India’s indigenous aerospace capabilities.

The display brought the Indian Air Force closer to the people of Chhattisgarh, offering young spectators an inspiring glimpse into military aviation and service to the nation.

Another aerial display is scheduled over Sendh Lake on 02 November 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Spectators are requested to arrive well in advance and follow the instructions of the local administration and event personnel.
