Mumbai : 2 November 2026
The Maharashtra Postal Circle will hold its first Monthly Adalat Diwas on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11.45 a.m. at the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai GPO Building, 2nd Floor, GPO Complex, Mumbai-400001.
The Department of Posts has decided to institutionalise Monthly Adalat Diwas on the first Friday of every month to strengthen its grievance redressal mechanism and provide a common and accessible platform for the resolution of grievances. On this day, four Adalats, namely Staff Adalat, GDS Adalat, Pension Adalat and Dak Adalat, will be conducted concurrently at Circle, Regional and Divisional levels, as applicable.
The initiative aims to facilitate the effective and timely redressal of grievances relating to postal services, staff, Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) and pensioners. It reflects the Department of Posts' commitment to providing efficient, reliable and customer-friendly services while ensuring timely resolution of grievances of customers, employees and other stakeholders.
Grievances pertaining to Maharashtra Circle, covering Maharashtra and Goa, relating to staff matters, Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), pension matters and postal services may be submitted to the concerned Group Officers on or before November 4, 2026, for consideration under the respective Adalats.
Applications should contain complete particulars of the grievance, relevant supporting documents and details of the office or authority to which the matter was previously referred, wherever applicable. Interested persons may submit their grievances through the prescribed channel to the concerned authority dealing with the respective Adalat for consideration during the Monthly Adalat Diwas.
The institutionalisation of Monthly Adalat Diwas is expected to enhance transparency, accessibility and accountability in grievance redressal and further strengthen the Department of Posts' commitment to responsive and citizen-centric service delivery.
