Acting on specific intelligence, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) MP Unit intercepted a Punjab-registered Tata Truck near Badnawar, District Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, and seized 595.420 kg poppy straw powder concealed in a specially constructed cavity in the truck’s floor. Two persons were arrested.
A joint team of CBN officers maintained surveillance along the suspected route and successfully intercepted the vehicle along with its two occupants. During a thorough search, 60 plastic bags containing 595.420 kg illicit poppy straw powder were recovered from the specially constructed concealed cavity in the floor of the truck.
The recovered contraband and the Tata Truck were seized, and two persons were arrested under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Further investigation is in progress to identify the source of the contraband and the network involved in its transportation and distribution.
CBN MP Unit remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and curbing the menace of narcotic drugs through sustained intelligence-based enforcement action.
