Sehore Madhya Pradesh’s Kavita Journey towards Economic Empowerment

Timely financial assistance can play an important role in helping individuals establish sustainable livelihoods, strengthen family financial stability and move towards economic self-reliance. Targeted support can also help beneficiaries turn their entrepreneurial aspirations into viable income-generating activities.
Smt Kavita Verma, a native resident of Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, aspired to establish a sustainable livelihood and contribute to the economic well-being of her family. Limited financial resources, however, posed a challenge in starting her own enterprise.
In 2024, under the NSFDC Refinance Scheme, Smt Verma received financial assistance of Rs. 3,42,000 through Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, Sehore, Mandi Branch, to establish a Flour Mill (atta chakki).
With the financial assistance, Kavita successfully started her flour mill business. The enterprise created a sustainable source of income for her and helped strengthen the economic condition of her family.
Today, Smt Kavita Verma is successfully operating her flour mill business. Her journey demonstrates how timely financial support can enable self-employment, strengthen household livelihoods and help beneficiaries move towards greater economic self-reliance.
Kavita Verma’s experience reflects the impact of financial assistance under the NSFDC Refinance Scheme in enabling beneficiaries to establish viable enterprises and build a more secure and self-reliant future.
