Guided by the spirit of “Nagariko Devo Bhavah”, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Pune conducted Open House at the Regional Passport Office, Baner, Pune, on 7th October 2026 to address passport applications pending on or before 31st December 2025.

The initiative provided a dedicated platform for applicants whose passport applications had remained pending for a prolonged period. Letters were sent to more than 300 applicants, inviting them to approach the Regional Passport Office for assistance and redressal of their passport-related grievances. Senior officers from RPO Pune interacted directly with the applicants, examined their individual cases and concerns, and facilitated the resolution of several pending cases.

During the session, applicants were also provided detailed guidance on documentation requirements and the procedures to be followed in cases involving ongoing court proceedings, change of name, change of date of birth, single-parent cases, adoption cases, adverse police reports, and other issues affecting the processing of passport applications.

The Open House enabled applicants with long-pending applications to engage directly with senior officials and understand the status and requirements of their respective cases. The initiative helped facilitate the timely resolution of grievances, reduce delays, and enhance transparency in the passport issuance process.
