Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti Shri V. Somanna Inspects Ongoing Railway Infrastructure Works in Tumakuru District

Shri V. Somanna, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, inspected various ongoing railway infrastructure works in Tumakuru District today, reviewing the progress of several Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) being undertaken to enhance railway and road safety and improve connectivity.
During the inspection, the Hon’ble Minister reviewed the ongoing construction of Road Over Bridges in lieu of Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. 58 (Nittur-Mysuru Gate) and LC No. 59 (Nandihalli Gate). He also inspected the Light Road Over Bridge (Light ROB) being constructed in the Gubbi station yard at an approximate cost of ₹19.34 crore.
Subsequently, he inspected the ongoing construction of Road Under Bridges in lieu of LC No. 48 (Kallipalya Gate), and LC No. 50 (Bilipalya Gate). The Hon’ble Minister also reviewed the progress of Road Over Bridge works in lieu of LC No. 56 (Benchagere Gate), LC No. 46 (Mallasandra Gate), LC No. 39 (Batwadi Gate), LC No. 38 (Baddihalli Gate), LC No. 35 (Mydala Gate) and LC No. 33 (Pandithanahalli Gate).
During the inspections, Shri V. Somanna instructed the officials concerned to maintain high standards of construction quality and ensure timely completion of all works within the stipulated target periods. Upon completion, these ROBs and RUBs will ensure uninterrupted movement of road traffic and enhance safety for both road users and railway operations.
Earlier, the Hon’ble Minister had also inspected the ongoing Road Over Bridge works at LC No. 88 and LC No. 86, along with the development works at Tiptur Railway Station.
Shri B. Suresh Gowda, Hon’ble MLA, Tumakuru Rural; Shri G.B. Jyothi Ganesh, Hon’ble MLA, Tumakuru City; Shri Prasad, Chief Engineer (Construction); Shri Suraj Kumar, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction); Shri Rajat, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction); Shri Harshit Gupta, Senior Divisional Engineer, Bengaluru Division, and other officials were present during the inspections.
