The Department is implementing two Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Scholarship for SC students in the country, including in Jharkhand. The details of the Schemes are as under:-
(i) Component-I of the 'Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for SCs and Others' under which eligible SC students studying in classes IX and X are covered;
(ii) Post Matric Scholarships to the Students belonging to SC for studies in India (PMS-SC) under which eligible SC students studying at the level of class XI onwards are covered.
The details of funds released by the Department (Central Assistance) to the State Government of Jharkhand, funds utilized by them, funds contributed by the State of Jharkhand and number of beneficiaries covered is attached as Annexure.
This information was given by Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Sushri A Narayaanswamy in the Lok Sabha in a written reply today.
