In de-addiction centre supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in NAPDDR scheme the patients are provided with free de-addiction treatment care i.e. detoxification, counseling, medication, board & lodging, yoga session, recreation facilities, spiritual & mindfulness session etc.
The number of the patients benefited from the de-addiction centres in the country during the last five years, year-wise, are as under-
(i) FY 2017-18: 114759
(ii) FY 2018-19: 77479
(iii) FY 2019-20: 93364
(iv) FY 2020-21 : 208415
(v) FY 2021-22 : 28640
The substances that are included in the definition of the drugs are as under-
- Alcohol
- Cannabis
- Synthetic Cannabinoids
- Opioids
- Sedatives,Hypnotics or Anxiolytics
- Cocaine
- Stimulants including Amphetamines methamphetamine or Methcathinone
- Synthetic Cathinones
- Caffeine
- Hallucinogens
- Nicotine
- Volatile Inhalants
- MDMA
- Dissociative Drugs including Ketamine and Phencyclidine (PCP)
