Indian Army has
initiated a case for procurement of Reconnaissance and Surveillance Helicopters
(RSH) to replace its helicopters due for de-induction. The Defence Acquisition
Council (DAC) has accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 200 Kamov 226T
helicopters for which an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) has been signed
with the Russian Government in December 2015.
This information
was given by Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh in a written
reply to Dr. K Gopal in Lok Sabha
today.
