The present
status of Agartala-Akhaura and Agartala-Sabroom
new line projects are as given below:
Agartala (India)-Akahaura (Bangladesh)
(15.061 km), New Line: Project was included in Budget 2012-13 at an
anticipated cost of Rs. 252 crore.
Memorandum of Understanding between India
and Bangladesh
ahs been signed in February, 2013. An
outlay of Rs. 10 crore has been provided during 2013-14. Work is presently in
preliminary stages.
Agartala-Sabroom (110 km), New Line: Project
was included in Railway Budget 2008-09 and has been declared as National
Project. Latest anticipated cost of the
project is Rs. 1141.75 crore and an expenditure of Rs. 497.8 crore has been
incurred upto March 2013-14. Presently, earthwork, bridges have been taken
up. Overall progress is 42.35 per cent.
Reconnaissance
Engineering cum Traffic Survey for providing connectivity of Belonia station on under construction Agartala-Sabroom
new line project and Feni (Bangladesh) has been taken up. Ministry of External Affairs has been
requested to confirm funding provision for proposed for proposed line. Proposal would be considered for sanction,
based on outcome of survey report.
This
