Low Carbon Transport System
The Planning Commission set up a high-level Expert Group on Low Carbon Strategies for Inclusive Growth under the Chairmanship of Shri Kirit Parikh, former Member, Planning Commission and Director, Integrated Research and Action for Development. The tenure of the Expert Group was extended by the Planning Commission from time to time. The Expert Group submitted its interim report to the Planning Commission in May 2011. On 22nd August, 2013, the Planning Commission further extended the tenure of the Expert Group till 31st December, 2013.
This was stated by Shri Sarvey Sathyanarayana, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in reply to a question in Lok Sabha yesterday.
