Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Sarbananda Sonowal congratulates Indian medal winners in commonwealth Games 2014
Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal has congratulated the Indian medal winners in the commonwealth Games 2014 for their outstanding performance. In a statement here he said, the efforts made by Abhinav Bindra, Sukhen Dey and Sanjita Khumukcham Chanu for the Gold medal winning performance is indeed a proud moment for India.The silver medal bagged by Mirabai Chanu, in Weightlifting, Malaika Goel in Shooting, Navjot Chana & Sushila Likmabam in Judo is something which has strengthened our belief in the budding talented youngsters. He said , Our athletes have contested well and did not give up which has been reflected in their bronze medal winning performance by Ganesh Malli and Santosh Matsa in Weightlifting and Kalpana Thoudam in Judo. Indian women athletes have done extremely well and out the 10 medals won on first two days 6 medals have been won by women athletes. In the days to come we hope to continue our journey of winning more and more medals and keep the tricolor flying high.
