Monitoring Development of Value Chains for MFP

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched a centrally sponsored scheme “Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produced (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and development of value chain”. The scheme envisages monitoring the development/ progress of its implementation by two committees one at State level under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary of the respective State and the other at District level under the chairmanship of respective District Collector. Beside this, Government of India also monitors the scheme through Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) at the Centre. The scheme has been initially implemented in the States having Scheduled V areas.

This information was given by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai Vasava in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
