National Cadet Corps

At present, 2461 Private schools and 1140 Private colleges are covered by NCC. On July 22, 2014, the Government has approved a scheme for “Out of Turn allotment of NCC cadet strength to institutions on Self Financing Scheme” where NCC activities can be started in institutions which are willing to bear the entire cost of training.  As per the scheme, 31 institutions in different States have been identified for the Pilot Project. Allotment of NCC to a wait listed institution is subject to authorized strength and training capacity of a NCC unit as well as occurrence of vacancy. Therefore, a specific time period cannot be fixed for a waitlisted institution to get NCC.
