A Scheme of
Skill Training Centers in Madarasas of the Ministry of Minority Affairswas
launched in Patna today on Pilot Project basis. The Scheme involves linking of
Traditional Educational Institutions like Madarasas/ Maktabs/ Monasteries and
others, with skill training for the Minority Communities. Dr Najma Heptulla,
the Union Minister of Minority Affairs and Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Minister of
Agriculture jointly inaugurated the Skill Training Centers in Madarasa
Idara-e-Shariah, Sultanganj, and via remote video link in Madarasa Anjuman
Islamia, & Madarasa Islamia Anjuman Rafaqul Muslimin, Motihari, on this
occasion.
A budget
provision of Rs. 3.60 Crore has been made by Maulana Azad National Academy
(MANAS) for this Pilot Project for setting up skill training centers in these 3
Madarsas and conducting skill development/up-gradation training for minority
communities, by MANAS through its Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).
MANAS will
act as a facilitator, bringing on-Board Traditional Educational Institutions of
Minorities like Madarsas/ Maktabs/ Monasteries and others who have vacant
space/buildings available to collaborate with its PIAs, who are high quality
training providers, capable of setting up training infrastructure within the
available space in these institutions. These training centers will be
established /developed as per the norms of Sector Skill Councils
(SSCs)/National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) to maintain the standard
of the training programme.
Launch of the Skill Training Centers
through traditional educational institution is an important milestone towards
achieving the objective of skilling minorities community with speed, scale and
standards across the country. This scheme would bring together key stakeholders
accelerating the process of their gainful integration with the workforce of the
entire country, by providing them sustainable livelihoods with primarily focus
on self-employment.
MANAS have
evolved comprehensive real-time monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure
quality, credibility & scalabilities of the training programme. By
leveraging technology the entire activity chain has been broken into
segment/stages inter-linked to each other from planning, execution, evaluation and post
placement tracking and each segment/stages is fully captured by an Application
in online software.
A call center
“Karobari
Salahiyat” has been established by the MANAS to assist and support for
newly trained entrepreneurs under E&SDP of MANAS. It will also provide
online platform to the trainees trained under E&SDP, to promote their
product, prepare
the catalogue of products with picture, price, description and size etc. and
display it on website for e-marketing.
Objective of
launching of the scheme is to highlight the significance of skilling,
vocational education and entrepreneurship amongst the minority community of the
country and make them feel that by skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling at
their door-steps, so that they shall also become an integral part of the
Skilling India Mission.
