Dr. Arjun Sengupta appointed Chairman of National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector
The Government has appointed Dr. Arjun Sengupta as Chairman of the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganized Sector (NCEUS) under the Ministry of Small Scale Industries in the rank of a Cabinet Minister. The appointment is for a period co-terminus with the life of the Commission. The terms and conditions of the Chairman of the NCEUS will be that of a Member of Parliament, entitled to no remuneration other than compensatory allowance.
The NCEUS is a body temporarily set up for the purpose of advising the Government with the mandate to examine the problems of the unorganized and informal sector and suggest measures to overcome them.
