Plan for Expansion of Public Sector Steel Plants

 

The Minister of Steel and Mines Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in statement laid on the Table of the Lok Sabha, informed that Steel is a deregulated sector and the role of Government is limited to that of a facilitator. The decisions regarding expansion of steel plants are essentially taken by the respective companies, based on commercial considerations and market dynamics. SAIL and RINL have undertaken modernization and expansion of their steel plants funded by their own sources.  The details of these are given below:-
