In Bihar during the 1999 General Elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) got highest percentage of votes i.e. 28.29% and captured 36 seats. BJP was second with vote percentage of 23.01% and 23 seats. Janta Dal United (JDU) secured 20.77% votes and won 18 seats. No other party in the State could reach to double digit as far as voting percentage was concerned.
