NHAI awards Contract for Villupuram – Puducherry – Poondiyankuppam- Sattanathapuram section of NH-45A in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued Letter of Award (LOA) for development of following National Highway section in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Hybrid Annuity Mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I :

The 180 Km long Villupuram-Nagapattinum section transverses through major towns Puducherry, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi and Karaikkal, which is divided into Four Packages.
(i) 4 Laning of Package I from Villupuram to Puducherry for 29 Km Length with Rigid Pavement. The Concession Period is 17.0 years including Construction Period of 2.0 years. The Project comprises of 2 Minor Bridges,4 Rail Over Bridges, 1 Trumpet,3 Fly overs,2 VUPs,5LVUPs and 1 Bypass of length of 16.35 km.
(ii) 4 Laning of Package II from Puducherry to Poondiyankuppam for 38 km Length with Rigid Pavement. The Concession Period is 17.0 years including Construction Period of 2.0 years. The Project will have 3 Major Bridges, 6 Minor Bridges, 3 Rail Over Bridges, 6 Flyovers, 4 VUPs, 5LVUPs and a Bypass of 33.58 km.
(iii) 4 laning of Package III from Poondiankuppam to Sattanathapuram comprises of development of 56.80 km of project length to 4-lane with rigid pavement from Poondiankuppam to Sattanathapuram. The concession period is 17 years including construction period of 2 years. The project will have 2 ROBs, 5 major bridges, 2 Major Bridge cum Flyover, 25 minor bridges, 1 Minor Bridge cum VUP, 12 Flyovers and 4 bypasses of a total length of 18.78 km.
