The 35th International Film Festival of India (IFFI, 2004) is being held in Goa from 29th November to 9th December 2004. The Film Festival is being organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with Government of Goa and Indian Film Industry.
The inaugural function of the Festival will be on the evening of 29th November 2004 at Kala Academy in Goa. The festival would be held in an ultra modern Cineplex with 4 theatres and a majestic 950 seat auditorium at Kala Academy. The Festival venue for both the Press and Delegates would be Kala Academy and Old GMC Multiplex (4 screens) at Campal, Panaji, Goa.
The Film Festival would feature seven major sections. This includes Asian competition, Cinema of the World, Indian and Foreign Retrospectives, Tributes and Homages, Indian Panorama and Mainstream Indian Cinema. There will be 400 screening of more than 200 films during the 10 days of the Festival.
The Logo of IFFI-2004 is based on the national bird peacock and it maintains the essential theme of the Festival, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The Whole World is One Family).
The Press Information Bureau has set up a Media Centre at Kala Academy in Goa to cater to the needs of media persons regarding IFFI, 2004. The Media Centre has started functioning and will be operational till 10th December, 2004. Information about the Film Festival is also available at the website
