Sh. Harish Rawat assumes the charge of Minister of state for Food Processing Industries
Sh. Harish Rawat, has taken over the charge of Minister of state for food processing Industries here today. Secretary, Shri Ashok Sinha and other senior officers of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries were present on the occasion.
Shri Harish Rawat is from the Congress Party and is a member of the Lok Sabha from Uttarakhand. Starting at village level politics, and after staying as a Trade Unionist and an Indian Youth Congress member for many years, he was elected to Lok Sabha in 1980.
In 2000, he was unanimously elected the President of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). In 2002, he was elected a member of the Rajya Sabha. In the general elections in 2009, he contested from Haridwar, Lok Sabha Sabha constituency.
