Study of the Past Helps to Understand our Role in the Present and Future Says
Director of ‘The Consul of Bordeaux’
Francisco Manso, Director of the Film ‘The Consul of Bordeaux’ has said that he likes to make films on historical subjects because a study of the past makes it easy to understand our role in the present and also gives us a perspective for future. He was addressing a press conference at the media centre here today.

Attended by the cast and crew of the film which included the director Franciso Manso, lead actor, Vitor Norte, the producer, Jose Mazeda and the composer, Henri Seroka, the conference shed light on the concept of the movie. The crew shared their experiences during the shoot of the movie and talked about the various events and occurrences which shaped the character of the movie. They also spoke on the touching storyline of the movie which has been acclaimed all over the world for its cinematic content and treatment of the sensitive subject.

‘The Consul of Bordeaux’ is the story of a man of conviction, Aristides de Sousa Mendes, who saved 30000 people, among them, 10000 Jews, from the Nazis in Bordeaux in 1940 during World War II.
