‘Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbo Na’ is My most Personal Film Says Anjan Dutt
‘Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbo Na’ is a musical movie and my most personal film said the Actor-Director Anjan Dutt. Addressing a press conference at the media centre here today he said that with this movie he has tried to capture for the first time in cinema the change that took place in Bengali music with the advent of singer- song writer Kabir Suman in the 90s. It is a film about the struggle, tribulation and retribution of an artist, he added. Producer Rana Sarkar speaking on the occasion said that it was his second movie as a producer and he believes that a film can be successful at the box office without relying only on star power. Actor Parno Mitra said that it was her first film as an actress on the big screen and she learnt playing on the guitar for the movie.

The film, ‘Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbo Na’ is the story of a middle aged pop star who meets a budding singer. After initial hiccups in their relationship, there emerges the story of an aging popstar training a young girl and the older generation handing over the baton to the next generation. Anjan Dutt, the Director of the film has directed eight films. Besides acting and directing, Anjan Dutt is also credited with being a singer and songwriter with eight albums of Bengali songs.
