Government
The gallantry
awards to armed forces personnel are given by the Central Government. Apart
from certain facilities which are allowed in kind to such awardees, they are
also paid Monetary Allowance by the Government in the following manner:-

been conferred to the soldiers of three Services since Independence. As per the existing procedure,
brief citations of the awardees of the Chakra series of awards and the names of
the recipients of Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu
Sena Medals are published in the Gazette of India.
This
