Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Justice Dalveer Chand Bhandari appointed judge of the Supreme Court
The President of India has appointed Justice Dalveer Chand Bhandari, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court as Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Justice Bhandari has taken oath of his office today forenoon. He was administered oath by the Chief Justice of India, Justice R.C. Lahoti.
Shri Justice Dalveer Chand Bhandari, B.A., L.L.M, was born on October 1, 1947. He was enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Rajasthan in 1968 and practiced in the Rajasthan High Court from 1968 to 1970. He practiced at Jodhpur from 1973 to 1977. In February, 1977, he shifted to Delhi and practiced in the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on March 19, 1991 and permanent Judge on January 23, 1992. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on July 25, 2004.
