New Coast Guard Station inaugurated in Kerala
The Coast Guard Station Beypore, Calicut in Kerala was commissioned today by Dr Prabhakaran Paleri Director General Coast Guard. The station has been provided with two modern state-of-art interceptor craft to maintain coastal surveillance and provide logistic support to the Coast Guard ships visiting on operational turn around. The station will be suitably augmented by new acquisitions of higher capability boats and ships in the near future.

The need for setting up the station was felt due to increased maritime offenses in the past. The station will enhance the security needs of the Coast Guard and will find its presence felt in the Southern coast of the country.
