Release of central funds to Maharashtra for DPAP under Haryali Guidelines
The Ministry of Rural Development
has released funds for the two Distt.s of Maharashtra, namely, Latur under Haryali-II and Osmanabad under Haryali-III in the
Drought Prone Areas Programme (DPAP) for the current financial year(2007-08) as under:

The grant
is towards plan expenditure and its utilization is subject to the terms and conditions
laid down in the guidelines for watershed development and also to the conditions
laid down and orders issued from time to time by the Government of India.
The Haryali scheme launched by the Department of Land Resources is to
empower the Panchayati Raj Institutions
(PRIs) both financially and administratively in implementing Watershed Development
Programmes. Accordingly, all ongoing area
development programmes namely, Integrated Wastelands Development Programme (IWDP), Drought Prone Areas
Programmes (DPAP) and Desert Development
Programme (DDP) are to be implemented through the PRIs. New projects under the aforesaid area development
programmes are implemented in accordance with the Guidelines for Haryali from
April 1, 2003.
