Dr. Arvind Virmani will be the New CEA in the Finance Ministry
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Arvind Virmani, presently Principal Adviser, Planning Commission, as Chief Economic Adviser, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, on deputation on ad-hoc basis in the post to be vacated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri, on his, appointment as Executive Director, Asian Development Bank, for a period upto 30th June, 2009 the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
