Press Note - Amrita Devi Bishnoi Wildlife Protection Award
The Ministry of Environment and Forests invites nomination for Amrita
Devi Bishnoi Wildlife Protection Award. It has been instituted for protecting wildlife which carries a cash
award of Rs. One lakh apart from citation and medallion.
This annual award is given to an individual/institution pertaining to rural
communities for significant contribution
in the field of wild life protection, which is recognized as having shown exemplary
courage and valour or having done some exemplary work for the protection of wild life in the country. There is no age limit for the individuals.
The Ministry of Environment and
Forests invites nominations for the said award from all State Governments/Union
Territories. Any citizen of India can also recommend a name. The nominations should include following details:
1. Name and
Address of the nominee
2. Area of work
3. Significant
contribution made by the nominee in the field of wildlife protection and
4. comments/recommendations
of the State Chief Wildlife Warden.
The last
date for receipt of nomination is 20.8.2007.
The nomination, signed by the sponsorer along with the recommendation of
the Chief Wild Life Warden should be sent to
