Railways organize 54th Senior National (Men) Boxing Championship
The Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) will be organizing the 54th Senior National (Men) Boxing Championship at Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi from 25th to 30th August 2007. In this mega event around 600 players/officials across the country will be participating. RSPB has got the honour of organizing such national championships in the past also like the Senior National Weightlifting Championships in 2003 and Senior Women Hockey Championships in 2005.

Railways have traditionally been a major force in the field of Boxing and have been dominating the sports of Boxing at National and at International levels. Railways have been runners up in the year 2005 and 2006 and also were the winners in the year 2004. Recently Railways won the Boxing Federation titles both in Men and Women in Chennai in July 2007 with Shri Dilbagh Singh from North Western Railway being adjudged as the best Boxer of the tournament.

Railways have star boxers namely; Akhil Kumar from Northern Railway, Vijender from North Western Railway, Diwakar from Eastern Railway, Dilbagh Singh from North West Eastern Railway, Harpreet Singh and Jitender from Northern Railway in men section. In women section, Ms. Chotto Loura from Northern Railway, Ms. Sunita Yadav and Sushma Yadav from North Western Railway and Kalpana Chaudhry from Northeast Frontier Railway are the world class Boxer.
