35th Conference of Prosthodontic Society
The 35th Annual Conference of the Prosthodontic Society was inaugurated here today. This conference is being held under the aegis of the Army Dental Corps and under the stewardship of The President Indian Prosthodontic Society, Lt Gen Paramjit Singh, Director General Dental Services and the dynamic organizing secretary Brig Vimal Arora from 06th to 11th sep 2007 at the prestigious India Habitat centre.

Conference was inaugurated by the Director General Armed Forced Medical Services Lt Gen Yogendra Singh, Senior Colonel Commandant Army Medical Corps, at the Air force Auditorium.

Prosthodontics over its long history, has proven to be a remarkably adaptable and innovative branch of dentistry as it has evolved and responded to expanding and ever more sophisticated patient needs and new technologies. It was the first specialty involved in reconstruction, a departure from the ablative approach of early dentistry. Over a period of time, it has changed considerably and it possesses a unique set of characteristics that have shaped much of dentistry what it is today.

This conference will be attended by over 1200 delegates which includes national and international delegates. The conference will show case the latest developments in the field of Prosthodontics, which will include CAD-CAM technology that is being used in developed countries for the fabrication of various restorations from crowns and bridges to maxillofacial prosthesis.

Dentistry has witnessed a revolutionary change in the use of Implants for replacement of missing teeth. The delegates will get an opportunity to upgrade their knowledge in this field as well as other latest developments in Prosthodontics. The theme of the conference’ Treatment Modalities for the Partially Edentulous’ will be vigorously deliberated during this 4 day conference.

11 pre-conference courses on various aspects of Prosthodontics were conducted which mainly include Dental implants, Cad-Cam restorations, full mouth rehabilitation, maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Aesthetic dentistry.

There will be approximately 600 scientific paper presentations, poster presentations and table clinics, which will benefit all the prosthodontists and a large number of student delegates attending this conference.

The conference also has a tremendous participation from the dental industry from India and abroad. An massive trade fare has been organized with approx 100 stalls where dental dealers from all over the world will show their products and machinery.
