‘Immortal Martyrs’ exhibition inaugurated
To coincide with our Independence Day, an exhibition entitled ‘Immortal Martyrs’ was inaugurated by Smt. Neena Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, here today. The Exhibition, which is being organized by the National Archives of India, is an attempt to recapture the revolutionary spirit and ethos of freedom fighters.

Viewers will be able to see rare and original documents interspersed with rare photographs of our martyrs pertaining to the period 1907-1940. Proceedings of the Delhi-Lahore Conspiracy Case, Extracts from proscribed publications like Kakori Shadyantra, Fauji Elan, Tarana-i-Azad, Phansi ke Shaheed, Intelligence Report on the activities of revolutionaries are among the 150 documents being exhibited. The exhibition also attempts to touch upon some emotive movements connected with the scores of unknown and unsung martyrs who sacrificed their lives to give us our present. It is an attempt to make the youth of today realize the price of our hard earned independence and solemn duty to uphold it in all times, at all cost.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 19 August – 17 September, 2004 between 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
