Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra Awards - 2001 announced
The Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra ( IPVM) Awards for the year 2001 will be given away to 16 individuals and institutions, in eight different categories, here on 9th September 2004 during the Conference of the State Environment Ministers.
These awards are given by the Ministry of Environment & Forests every year to individuals and institutions for their outstanding contribution in the field of Afforestation and Waste-land Development.
The awardees for the year 2001 in the individual categories are Shri N S A Vellumuthaliar of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu and Shri Jitu Kumar Ishvarlal Patel of Mehsana, Gujarat. In the Panchayat category, the awards will be given to Village Forest Protection Committee, Ungatti Village, Hosur, Tamil Nadu and Motiya Van Vikas Sahakari Mandli Ltd, Bharuch, Gujarat.
Madhyamik Shala, Rana Khirasra, Porbandar, Gujarat and Kumbhairda Nodal T O U P (M E) School, Mayurbhanj, Orissa have been selected for the awards in the Educational Institutes category. In the Voluntary Agencies category, the awards will go to Dailong Ecology & Environment Presentation Society, Dailong, Manipur and Garjanpat Van Sanrakshana Samiti, Bargarh, Orissa.
Shri Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Range Officer, Boxanagar, Tripura and Shri Pratap Ramchandra Dighavkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Maharashtra will receive the awards in the Government Servant (Individual) category. In the Government Agencies category, the awards will be given to Forest Division of Kargil and Vellore Forest Division, Tamil Nadu.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore and Vyasanaker Iron Ore Mines of M/s MSPL Limited, Karnataka will get the awards in the Corporate Sector category. Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad and Bareilly Cantonment Board, Bareilly have been selected for the awards in the Municipalities category.
