Vice President condoles the death of Shri Shiv Charan Mathur
The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has deeply condoled the sad demise of Shri Shiv Charan Mathur, Governor of Assam. In his condolence message, the he said that in his long public career, Shri Shiv Charan Mathur, had served the country and the people with distinction during his many years in public life. He always worked for the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden through many policy initiatives. His loss shall be keenly felt.
Following is the text of the Vice President’s condolence message-
“I am deeply grieved to learn about the sad demise of Shri Shiv Charan Mathur, Governor of Assam.
A dynamic administrator and a respected public personality, Shri Shiv Charan Mathur had served the country and the people with distinction during his many years in public life. He always worked for the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden through many policy initiatives. Shri Mathur’s contribution to varied spheres of nation building has been well recognised. He earned the respect and admiration of the people for his dedication, sense of public service, innate simplicity and honesty. His services to the country shall always be remembered.
My wife joins me in sending our heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and the wide circle of his admirers and friends and pray the Almighty to grant them the strength to withstand this loss.”
