The result of the Central
Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2008, held by the Union
Public Service Commission has been announced.
A
total of 325 candidates have been recommended for appointment which include 145
General, 113 Other Backward Classes, 48 Scheduled Castes and 19 Scheduled
Tribes candidates.
Appointment to various Services i.e.
Border Security Force; Central Reserve Police Force; Indo-Tibetan Border
Police; Sashastra Seema Bal
will be made according to number of vacancies available and due consideration
to the provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination. The number of
vacancies reported for Border Security Force is 35 (19 General, 09 Other
backward Classes, 05 Scheduled Castes and 02 Scheduled Tribes); for the Central
Reserve Police Force is 225 (114 General, 71 Other backward Classes, 27
Scheduled Castes and 13 Scheduled Tribes); for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police
Force is 40 (23 General, 13 Other Backward Classes, 03 Scheduled Castes and 01
Scheduled Tribes); Sashastra Seema
Bal is 41 (22 General, 13 Other backward Classes, 05 Scheduled Castes and 01
Scheduled Tribes) and for Central Industrial Security Force is 35 (18 General,
07 Other backward Classes, 08 Scheduled Castes and 02 Scheduled Tribes).
The written test of the examination was
held in October 2008 and the Personality Test held in August-September 2009.
The result of 01 candidate has been withheld due to pending medical review
appeal.

the Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2008, the Commission

of merit below the last recommended candidate under respective category, which
include 50 General, 46 Other Backward Classes, and 04 Scheduled Tribes
candidates.

Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates can obtain any information /
clarification regarding their examinations / recruitment on the working days
between 1000 hrs. to 1700 hrs. in

www.pib.nic.in and also on the U.P.S.C.
web site i.e., www.upsc.gov.in However, marks on the web site will be available in due
course for a period of thirty days.
