Approval for Two Projects of Four Laning of Beawar-Pali And Pali-Pindwara Section of NH-14 in Rajasthan Under NHDP Phase III
The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) today approved the implementation of two projects of four laning of Beawar-Pali section and Pali-Pindwara section of NH-14 in the State of Rajasthan under NHDP Phase III on Design, Build, Finance, Operate & Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The total project cost of Beawar-Pali section of NH-14 is estimated at Rs.1102.10 crore. The concession period is 21 years including construction period of 30 months. The total project cost of Pali-Pindwara section of NH-14 is estimated at Rs.1326.54 crore. The concession period is 19 years including construction period of 30 months.
BACKGROUND:
The Cabinet gave approval for four/six laning of 4000 km of National Highways under NHDP Phase IIIA on BOT basis in March 2005. Subsequently, Government approved additional stretches for implementation of four laning in May 2006, October 2006 and April 2007. Total tentative length of 12109 km is to be done at an estimated cost of Rs.80626 crores.
This project will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic plying between Pali-Jaipur and Pali-Udaipur. The development of two sub-projects will also improve connectivity between the States of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It will also increase the potential of employment to local labourers for the project activities. Besides benefiting districts of Ajmer, Pali, Sirohi and Bhilwara, the road users from all over the country including domestic and international tourists would also be benefited.
