The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved the implementation of the project of two laning with paved shoulder of Dindigul-Theni section of NH-45 (Extn.) and Theni-Kumli Section of NH-220 in the State of Tamil Nadu under NHDP Phase III on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) Annuity basis.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs.501 crore under the DBFO pattern. The concession period is for 20 years including a construction period of 24 months.

The main object of the project is to expedite the improvement of infrastructure in the State of Tamil Nadu and to increase the capacity of these sections of the National Highways, approved by the Government under the NHDP Phase III.
