Visit of Chief of Army Staff Ghana Army to India 28 Jun to 01 Jul 2010
Major General Joseph Narh Adinkrah, COAS, Ghana Army, is visiting India on a good will visit from 28 Jun 10 to 01 Jul 10. The visit is of special significance in the light of historical defence cooperation ties between India and Ghana. This visit will further boost the defence cooperation between the two nations.

India has historical and traditional relations with Ghana. The friendship with Ghana is based on common ideals and principles arising from a significant legacy of social, cultural and political struggles, alongwith a shared commitment to democracy. Defence cooperation, as a part of defence diplomacy, has been an important tool towards enhancing this friendship.

The defence cooperation with Ghana has existed since 1957 and Indiana Armed Forces have played an important role in laying the foundation of all the three services of the Ghana Armed Forces. The Armed forces of the two nations have been comprehensively cooperating in the field of military training, United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, training and participation of observers in exercises.

During his four day official visit, Major General Joseph Narh Adinkrah will be meeting MOD officials land senior military officials. He will visit United Service Institution (USI) and the Centre for UN Peacekeeping (CUNPK), New Delhi. During his interaction with senior MOD and military officials, the General will be discussing issues to further enhance military cooperation. The visit will further enhance our defence cooperation and cement the time-tested ties between India and Ghana, which are based on continuity, trust and mutual understanding.
