The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments:

(i) Shri Brijesh Kumar, IAS (UP:68), Secretary, Department of Information Technology, to hold full additional charge as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, and Chairman, Telecommunications Commission, vice Shri Nripendra Misra, IAS (UP:67) on his retirement on 31.3.2005.

(ii) Shri V.K. Duggal, IAS (AGMU:68) presently Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, and Secretary, Department of Drinking Water Supply, as Home Secretary vice Shri Dhirendra Singh, IAS (KN:68) on his retirement on 31.3.2005.

(iii) Smt. Adarsh Misra, IAS (AGMU:69), presently awaiting posting on return from leave, as Adviser, Planning Commission, in the rank and pay of Secretary, in the post vacated by Smt. Kasturi G. Menon on her retirement on 31.12.2004.

(iv) Shri D.K. Sankaran, IAS (MH:70), presently in the cadre, as Secretary (Border Management), Ministry of Home Affairs, vice Shri A.K. Rastogi, IAS (TN:68) on his retirement on 31.3.2005.

(v) Shri J. Harinarayan, IAS (AP:70), presently Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, as Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, and Secretary, Department of Drinking Water Supply vice Shri V.K. Duggal, IAS (AGMU:68).
